Oddpaper is a brilliant notebook company based in Brussels. They take waste recovery further than most: instead of making notebooks out of recycled paper (a process that uses a lot of energy and water) they salvage waste paper before it gets to the shredder, and make it into beautiful notebooks.
Our mate Ben Ledger bought us on to this project to handle the words, while he redesigned the visual branding. The challenge the brand was facing is that people weren’t really understanding the difference between what OddPaper do and normal recycled paper – so we centred our copy on the concept of recreativity, a way to go further than standard recycling.
We needed to find away of explaining the production process without sounding preachy or potentially a little bit boring. Our words have helped clarify what’s so unique about Oddpaper in a way that feels exactly right for this fun-loving, creative brand and set a tone for their future communications.
